This page serves to plan the agenda for the session, then logs the finalized minutes, as well as information necessary for final summary, upon the completion.
START A BIT > Learning Packages > LP2504: First Experience with Arduino, 25w04 > This page
Project: Blink the Arduino UNO built-in LED or external wired LED
Basic knowledge of Arduino board
Install and get familiar with Arduino IDE tool, try the development flow
pinMode() and digitalWrite()
Great starting of the learning in 2025, with very active students coming back!
Good size of the learning group, and efficient with the learning activities!
Good trying with Arduino, bringing new interests and fresh experience
Nice parents with us, and thanks to one of the parent for bringing a nice cake
Unexpected postponed starting of the learning package, due to the late response of classroom arrangement and teacher's sickness, and the missing information of the new passcode of the entrances
Too busy to prepare for any fika snacks for this session... :-(
Not very well prepared materials, even though everything went very well in the class
One student temporarily dropped from the learning
None of the students knew Arduino before, so we spent more time to introduce what and why
A student hade Chromebook, not able to install Arduino IDE application, but OK with Arduino IDE Cloud version, this was not well prepared or tested, luckily, things went well eventually
This is a log as information for today, no need to pay now. We will sum up all the costs to share after finishing the whole Learning Package.
7 students participated
The variable costs to share: 108 Kr
0 Kr: Not prepared for any fika snack, but a parent brought a cake for us :-)
108 Kr: Tutor parking 9:43-13:18
The fixed consuming materials costs: 20 Kr/student/session
20 Kr per student: Compensate the consuming cost of tools and materials for projects (like printed paper, stationery, cables, batteries, fragile components, etc.)
So, every participant pays: 108/7 + 20 = 35.43 Kr
10:05-10:40:
Opening of the new year learning, basic information sharing
Introduction of Arduino
10:40-11:30:
Install the Arduino IDE application
Project making to use pinMode() and digitalWrite()
Some students had even taken the optional making with external LEDs
11:35-11:50:
Fika and social
10:05-10:30: Opening
Introduction of the new Learning Package, the contents, scope and expectations
Demo of the project of blinking LED
Basic knowledge:
10:30-11:30: Project making
Follow the tutor step by step to
Install Arduino IDE application in your PC
Connect to Arduino UNO board
Copy-paste the demo program from the tutor to blink built-in LED
Compile and download for test
Optional: Build external LED, blink it
Challenge: Build a traffic light with Red-Yellow-Green, program to schedule the rotation of the lights
