Program the software, connect to the development board, debug the software
Actually there is no special requirement for this laptop, a normal family laptop can work.
Windows operation system is OK, Windows 10 or newer versions are preferred
macOS (operation system for Apple laptop, Macbook) is OK
Other Linux operation system like Ubuntu is not tested, let is avoid it
The laptop need to be able to access internet via WiFi (It's 99.9% possibility for your laptop to be already OK with this)
Better to have a mouse, not a must
The Chrombook provided by the local school also works well
Of your own preference and choice.
